In case of EPS cutting electrically heated wires are moved through the EPS block, the EPS beads are melted on and thus cut.
With the long stroke technology developed and patented by Kurtz with very high speed the cutting wires are moved horizontally oscillatingly by about 60 mm through the EPS block.
With hot wire cutting plants with oscillation the electrically heated wires additionally oscillate while they are moved through the EPS block.
Cutting with hot wire is the most simple method to cut EPS and is particularly suitable when lower throughput capacities and higher dimension tolerances for the cut sheets are allowed.
The computer controlled contour cutter ProAxis cut several identical contours at the same time with up to 10 cutting wires.
With the Kurtz EPS handling system ProRob completely new dimensions for the handling and for further processing of the products to be manufactured open up.
