Engineering - Expertise around the moulding process
The processing of EPS, EPE and EPP offers attractive diversification opportunities, even to those who are not familiar with these materials. KURTZ Engineering provides complete production solutions for highest productivity, flexibility and profitability to experts and beginners at any place in the world.
KURTZ engineering comprises project analysis, advice, planning, calculation of costs, plant engineering, installation and commissioning, staff training, support in application technology and local service. KURTZ complete solutions offer all professional advantages for a competitive processing of thermoplastic foams.
In the shape moulding machine, the product receives its final shape. The pre-expanded and intermediately stored material is transported into the mould. Hot steam - as medium - plastifies the beads and causes them to expand. The individual beads contact each other directly and fuse to form a moulding part.
A comprehensive shape moulding machine programme provides a tailer-made solution for each application. KURTZ offers the most economical machine concept for each requirement - from large scale production to flexible realisation of different short run productions. The steam chamber dimensions of KURTZ standard machines range from 600 x 800 mm to 1,100 x 2,100 mm, depending on the application and cavities (number of mouldings on a mould).

For special applications, larger steam chamber dimensions are possible. Depending on the raw material, the machines are designed for steam pressures of 1.5 to 7.5 bar.
Kurtz can solve tasks that would generally require special designs by using a wide choice of elaborate standard elements. High-tech foaming does not only mean material specific and moulding appropriate foaming but also and most of all a high development status of the machine design. This also implies reliability in functions, flexibility in use, energy saving, short cycle times, minimization of downtimes and, not to forget, connections to efficient handling and material feed systems.
KURTZ shape moulding machines are the international benchmark for technology for the processing of expandable thermoplastic foams. They leave all decisive future options open for the processor.
